- ¾ cup fresh bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons milk or water
- ½ lb ground beef
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 sub buns
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- In a mixing bowl, combine bread crumbs and milk (or water). Let sit until softened.
- Add ground beef, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; mix gently until combined.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Shape the mixture into meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Heat marinara sauce in a saucepan; add baked meatballs and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
