Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in molasses, egg, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms. Chill for at least one hour.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar followed by powdered sugar.
  5. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until puffed and crackled.
