  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup warm water or warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 7 tablespoons salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water/milk, honey, and butter.
  2. Knead on medium speed until smooth (about 1-2 minutes). Let rise for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Mix granulated sugar with cinnamon in a bowl. Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread with butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Cut dough into strips, twist each strip into knots and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Melt remaining butter and mix with brown sugar and cinnamon; spoon over knots.
  7. Bake for about 16-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For glaze, beat together powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla, and a little water until smooth; drizzle over knots before serving.
