  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and caramelize sliced onions for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Add caramelized onions to the crock pot along with beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; stir to combine.
  5. Place meatballs in the crock pot ensuring they are submerged in the sauce.
  6. Cover and cook on low for approximately 4 hours until fully cooked.
  7. Preheat broiler; transfer contents to an oven-safe dish and top with Gruyere cheese.
  8. Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
