Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can (15 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • For Ganache: 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, cherry pie filling, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until just combined; the batter will be thick.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  4. To make the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and butter until smooth.
  5. Once cooled, pour ganache over the cake and spread evenly. Allow it to set before slicing.
